Carol Tremble Carol Tremble, CPA

Carol has more than 25 years of tax, accounting and small business experience. She founded Carol B. Tremble,Certified Public Accountant in 1989. The firm provides tax and financial consulting services to more than 500 clients, more than 200 of which are small businesses. Before becoming a CPA, she was a math teacher, bookkeeper, waitress and organic farm stand operator. She holds a BA in Mathematics from the University of Vermont.

A lifelong community catalyst, Carol has served as High Bailiff, Selectman, Town Auditor and Planning Commission member in South Hero, Vermont. Carol’s volunteering includes Mentoring, Choir, Mission board, Boy Scout Leader, Little League coach, Sunday School teacher and Turkey Dinner Chairman, to name just a few.

Carol is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New England Peer Review Board, the Vermont Society of CPA’s and other professional organizations.

Mary Maheux Mary Maheux, CPA

Mary has been a CPA for more than 20 years and a member of the firm since 2001. She has a BS in Business from Castleton State College. She has volunteered at many local nonprofit organizations including La Leche League of Jericho, Humane Society of Chittenden County, Rice High School Girls IceHockey team, Champlain Valley Skating Club and Vermont Children’s Theater on Ice. She enjoys spending time with her family, figure skating, cooking, knitting, animals and anything you can do on Lake Champlain.

Sally Krebs Sally Krebs

Sally joined the firm in 1999 and has been working during “tax season” ever since. Sally graduated with BA in zoology and worked in the labs at the UVM medical school. She’s also been a bookkeeper and office manager and returned to college to take many accounting courses. Sally has lived in South Hero for 39 years and has been active in community and church activities and enjoys walking, hiking, cross-country skiing, kayaking and gardening.

Eric Tremble Eric Tremble

Eric grew up in a home where April 16th was a major holiday! He completed the H&R Block Income Tax Course in 2001. When not helping his mom during “tax season” Eric works full-time at IBM as an electrical engineer. He has a BS in Physics from St Lawrence University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Clarkson University. In his spare time, he coaches a Junior Biathlon team, cross country skis, hikes, runs and is a Category 1 bike racer. (In other words, he’s just like his mom!)

Liz Hollenbach

A competive runner and cross-country skier, Tax season is one of the few times Liz slows down. (She is kinda cut from the same cloth as her husband Eric and her mother-in-law Carol.) She also works as an alpine ski patroller at Bolton Valley, is operations director for RunVermont and manages volunteers for Vermont City Marathon. Liz earned a BA in envionmental Sociology and an MEd from St. Lawerence University. She joined the firm in 2012 and the family September 15th 2013.

Ann Buermann Ann Buermann

Ann is the administrative manager and has been with the firm since 1998. She’s very active in the local community, serving on the South Hero school board, select board and Farmers Market Board and also volunteering at Folsom School. When not in the office, Ann operates a sheep farm, spins her own yarn and knits many beautiful items that can be purchased at the Champlain Islands Farmers Market. She graduated from Maryville College in Tennessee with a BS in Biology.

Cindy Spence Cindy Spence

Cindy has been working part-time since 2008 and focuses on photocopying and filing extensions. She operates Sew Fine, an Upholstery and Property Maintenance business, and has worked at a variety of jobs including bookkeeping, shipping and handling and recovering fabric airplanes. Cindy enjoys dancing, singing, cycling and flying airplanes and is currently taking accounting courses at the Community College of Vermont.

Paula Knight Paula Knight

Paula joined the firm in 2002 and works as an administrative assistant. She grew up in North Hero, Vermont, where she was the postmaster for 30 years. Upon retirement, she worked as a Lister for the town in addition to her duties here. An avid bowler, Paula has attended many national tournaments throughout the country. She also has a passion for walking, which she will do more of with her new hip!
